More than 700 Homebuyers Attend Westside Trail Open House Walking Tour

Invest Atlanta’s Homeownership Team and Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. co-hosted the Westside Trail Open House Walking Tour 2016, an event that attracted more than 700 homebuyers in June to tour more than 18 houses for sale near the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail in the historic West End, Westview, Bush Mountain and Oakland City neighborhoods.

Tour attendees received valuable homeownership and community information from mortgage lenders, real estate agents, homebuyer education providers and community leaders who participated in the event.

The Walking Tour, in its second year, complements the Invest Atlanta Homebuyer Q &A Sessions offered to familiarize attendees with homebuyer incentives. Eligible homebuyers receive funds to help reduce down payment and closing costs associated with purchasing a home.

To qualify for the incentives, prospective homebuyers first attend a Homebuyer Q & A Session and an approved 8-hour homebuyer education course before qualifying for a mortgage with an Invest Atlanta Participating Lender. Homebuyer education ensures homebuyers gain the necessary insight to make informed decisions about homeownership.

The Westside Trail Open House Walking Tour combined the excitement of touring homes with learning, and ultimately led to purchase offers for two homes featured on the tour.
