340 Auburn Avenue Gets a Facelift

The exterior renovation of 340 Auburn Avenue, which was partly financed through a grant awarded by Invest Atlanta, has been completed and fully funded. Work on the project began last October and included the installation of new storefront systems, front and back windows and awnings, as well as graffiti removal and brick repair.
The downtown façade improvement grant provided $63,371 of the total project cost of $156,237. Invest Atlanta allotted these funds from the Eastside Tax Allocation District to Sweet Auburn Apartments, LLC, the owner of the property.
The Downtown Façade Improvement Grant (DFIG) program provides a 2/3 matching grant to property and business owners to make exterior improvements to commercial property in the Eastside and Westside Tax Allocation Districts (“TAD”). This grant was created to enhance the appearance of commercial areas, supporting the Atlanta Streetcar, leveraging private investment, and complementing community revitalization efforts.
